dsc00625Teams are a critical part of Powwow for Hope. Teams raise funds that support the availability of community education, screening outreach, survivor support and opportunities within the community. Creating a team is an easy and fun way to join together and help fight cancer.

Teams raise funds in many different ways before and during Powwow for Hope. Funds raised by individuals and teams directly support the Foundation’s work to provide cancer education and supportive services for American Indians. With Powwow for Hope funds, AICAF can provide community education for cancer prevention including development of cancer resources and provide outreach for cancer screening. With last year’s funds, we were also able to send a cancer survivor to Harmony Hill’s wellness retreat in Washington. This retreat focused on traditional Native American healing through food, music and meditation, along with meaningful group discussions with other Native American survivors.
